We’ve been given a great opportunity to partner up with the Art Institute of Chicago for this Unit Internalization session. At this session participants will engage in inquiry-based learning at the Art Institute in support of the 8th and 11th grade Participate Civics curriculum.

As part of the inquiry, participants will practice using art as a source to support investigating an essential question. This helps participants consider how to implement the Skyline Social Science 8th and 11th grade Civics curriculum with integrity by incorporating sources from local museums, community sources, etc. Additionally as both the 8th and 11th grade civics curriculum call us to support our students with taking informed action, we will think through how we can support students with creating art to spread awareness on key issues that matter to them as action. Finally, there will be time for planning and integration of the learning into your upcoming unit.
