SY26 SKYLINE PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
Teacher Professional Learning. Teachers are provided with comprehensive support when launching the Skyline curriculum through asynchronous and in-person sessions, as well as ongoing offerings to sustain and deepen successful implementation.
Skyline Essentials Badges: Asynchronous self-paced professional learning essential for those who are implementing and/or supporting the implementation of Skyline. Badges can be found here. Teachers earn 1 ISBE credit hour for each completed badge. As of April 1, 2025, compensation is not available for badge completion.
Skyline 101s: In-person, day-long sessions that prepare teachers and leaders for successful implementation of Skyline. Sessions will run June 16, 2025 through the summer.
Ongoing Support: Throughout the school year, CPS content specialists provide ongoing professional learning opportunities tailored to both newly implementing teachers and more experienced users of the curriculum.
School Leader and Network Leader Professional Learning. School leaders and network leaders have access to professional learning that helps them apply high-leverage leadership practices that are especially impactful for implementation of HQ curriculum.
Leading Implementation of the Skyline Curriculum: This in-person, day-long launch session is for school leaders, school-based coaches, and network/district coaches who support schools with curriculum implementation. Leaders will leave the session prepared to implement high-leverage leadership and coaching practices that matter most for successful curriculum implementation. Sessions will run May 27, 2025 through the summer.
Ongoing Support: Throughout the school year, the CPS professional learning team provides ongoing opportunities for school and network leaders to strengthen their leadership of Skyline curriculum implementation.
Payment / ISBE Credit Hours
Teachers will receive ISBE Hours for each Skyline Essentials badge completed. As of April 1, 2025, no compensation will be provided for completion of Skyline Essentials badges. Teachers will receive ISBE Hours for attending PL sessions. Eligibile staff will also be compensated at the non-instructional rate per hour for their attendance at Skyline PL sessions that occur outside of regularly contracted hours. Teachers must be fully contracted and onboarded at the time of the session, attend the full duration of the session, and complete the attendance/exit slip form to receive payment and ISBE Hours. SEL Specific- This professional learning session will equip educators with the knowledge and skills to effectively leverage the Branching Minds platform to enhance their Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how Branching Minds can streamline intervention planning, progress monitoring, and data-driven decision-making for students requiring Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.
This training will teach you how to use Amira reading program reports to provide more targeted support to students. You'll learn to analyze data, interpret reports, and develop effective, data-driven interventions to improve student reading skills.
Prepare for a smooth i-Ready MOY testing window with tools, strategies, and troubleshooting tips tailored for Assessment Leads and Testing Coordinators. Learn how to manage logistics, support staff, and ensure school-level readiness. This session is open to all school leads and K-2 testing coordinators. New to the process or seeking a refresher.
Ensure a smooth and successful Middle-of-Year (MOY) Screening window with this essential refresher on administering the Star Screener with fidelity. Designed for new and returning Star users, this session provides key guidance and updates to support accurate and effective screening, ensuring reliable data for instructional planning. Prerequisite Knowledge/Skills: Open to educators new or returning to Star who would benefit from a MOY screening overview.
Discover how Star Assessments, Star Evaluaciones, and Star CBM Lectura support bilingual learners through data-driven instruction. Learn to interpret Spanish and English assessment data, apply OMME guidance, and monitor literacy growth to meet student needs effectively. This session is designed for educators supporting bilingual students taking Star Assessments and/or Star Evaluaciones.
This session supports educators in preparing for the Middle of Year (MOY) i-Ready testing window. Participants will review key implementation steps, explore strategies for smooth testing logistics, and troubleshoot common challenges. This session is appropriate for new users or those needing a refresher.
