SY26 SKYLINE PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
Teacher Professional Learning. Teachers are provided with comprehensive support when launching the Skyline curriculum through asynchronous and in-person sessions, as well as ongoing offerings to sustain and deepen successful implementation.
Skyline Essentials Badges: Asynchronous self-paced professional learning essential for those who are implementing and/or supporting the implementation of Skyline. Badges can be found here. Teachers earn 1 ISBE credit hour for each completed badge. As of April 1, 2025, compensation is not available for badge completion.
Skyline 101s: In-person, day-long sessions that prepare teachers and leaders for successful implementation of Skyline. Sessions will run June 16, 2025 through the summer.
Ongoing Support: Throughout the school year, CPS content specialists provide ongoing professional learning opportunities tailored to both newly implementing teachers and more experienced users of the curriculum.
School Leader and Network Leader Professional Learning. School leaders and network leaders have access to professional learning that helps them apply high-leverage leadership practices that are especially impactful for implementation of HQ curriculum.
Leading Implementation of the Skyline Curriculum: This in-person, day-long launch session is for school leaders, school-based coaches, and network/district coaches who support schools with curriculum implementation. Leaders will leave the session prepared to implement high-leverage leadership and coaching practices that matter most for successful curriculum implementation. Sessions will run May 27, 2025 through the summer.
Ongoing Support: Throughout the school year, the CPS professional learning team provides ongoing opportunities for school and network leaders to strengthen their leadership of Skyline curriculum implementation.
Payment / ISBE Credit Hours
Teachers will receive ISBE Hours for each Skyline Essentials badge completed. As of April 1, 2025, no compensation will be provided for completion of Skyline Essentials badges. Teachers will receive ISBE Hours for attending PL sessions. Eligibile staff will also be compensated at the non-instructional rate per hour for their attendance at Skyline PL sessions that occur outside of regularly contracted hours. Teachers must be fully contracted and onboarded at the time of the session, attend the full duration of the session, and complete the attendance/exit slip form to receive payment and ISBE Hours. This training will teach you how to use Amira reading program reports to provide more targeted support to students. You'll learn to analyze data, interpret reports, and develop effective, data-driven interventions to improve student reading skills.
Educators will examine Midyear (MOY) data from the Evaluación Diagnóstica de Lectura en español to assess student progress since the Beginning-of-Year (BOY) administration. Participants will analyze individual growth toward grade-level proficiency using key benchmarks and use these insights to plan differentiated instructional next steps based on domain-specific strengths and needs.
This professional learning session will equip educators with the knowledge and skills to effectively leverage the Branching Minds platform to enhance their Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework as it pertains specifically around SEL and Behavior . Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how Branching Minds can streamline intervention planning, progress monitoring, and data-driven decision-making for students requiring Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.
This training session helps educators leverage SANDI data to develop and write impactful Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Participants will learn to use SANDI to assess and establish Present Levels of Performance, identify and prioritize new IEP targets, and craft standards-based IEP goals tailored to students' learning needs.
This training will teach you how to use Amira reading program reports to provide more targeted support to students. You'll learn to analyze data, interpret reports, and develop effective, data-driven interventions to improve student reading skills.
This scenario based workshop will provide examples of best practices in using Freckle to support Tier 2 & 3 instruction. Participants will also learn strategies to deepen student engagement.
In this session, participants will deepen their understanding of student growth percentile (SGP) within Star. We will discuss the difference between achievement (percentile rank) and growth (SGP), discuss multiple student examples utilizing the Tier 1 Data Analysis Protocol, and examine the Star Growth Report and Growth Proficiency Chart. Participants will have dedicated work time to run each report and begin analyzing growth from BOY to MOY to inform instructional decisions.
This is a required training for HS Schedulers at district-managed schools. The session will review scheduler responsibilities for setup of the SY27 scenario in the Build.
Please note: this session is exclusively for current HS Schedulers, calendar invites will only be sent to those listed on HS Scheduler's Directory. HS Principals can contact the School Scheduling Manager to make updates to that directory.

Discover how Star Assessments, Star Evaluaciones, and Star CBM Lectura support bilingual learners through data-driven instruction. Learn to interpret Spanish and English assessment data, apply OMME guidance, and monitor literacy growth to meet student needs effectively. This session is designed for educators supporting bilingual students taking Star Assessments and/or Star Evaluaciones.
This session will explore the data and dashboards available within Renaissance Next for Leaders, equipping district/network/school leaders with the skills to interpret and analyze MOY Star results at various levels Participants will learn how to identify trends, assess performance gaps, and leverage data insights to support strategic decision-making and instructional planning.
Using the Student (Typical) Growth and Performance Analysis protocol, participants will analyze and respond to student growth and performance data from the i- Ready Universal/Screener Diagnostic. They will identify opportunities for accelerated learning and create an actionable plan for the next instructional steps.
